2012 HBA Executive Committee for the Board of Directors

2012 President, Cindy Sheldon, DR Horton

Cindy Young Sheldon, a Branch Manager of the Triad and Triangle Division for DR Horton is the 2012 HBA President. Her involvement with the HBA over the last seventeen years includes serving on the Parade of Homes Committee, Chairing the Build-PAC committee, coordinating Scholarship Task Force, as well as holding various positions on the HBA Board of Directors and Executive Committee. For the National Association of Home Builders, Cindy has served as a National Director and on their National Housing Finance Committee.

In addition to her dedicated involvement with the association, Cindy also serves her community. She is currently the Director of the Fuquay-Varina Economic Development Commission and an Elected Commissioner for the Town of Fuquay-Varina. Cindy has also chaired on the Town of Fuquay-Varina Planning and Zoning Board. She is also currently a Wake County ABC Board member.
 
 

Past President, Wes Carroll, Upright Builders, Inc.

Wes Carroll, President of Upright Builders, Inc., served as the 2011 HBA President. A builder and HBA member for over 22 years, Wes has also been active on the HBA Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Since 1990, he continues to serve on the Parade of Homes Committee and help the event grow each year.

Under his leadership in 2011, the HBA’s Triangle Sales and Marketing Council won Best SMC of the Year, the Remodelers Council grew to become the 4th Largest in the Country, a new HBA website was launched, new fundraising goals were met for both Build-PAC and Foundation Club, and three major charity projects were completed – Justin’s Room with April’s Angels, a Rachel’s Rescue Remodel, and a Kitchen Remodel for Helping Hand Mission’s New Bern House.
 
 

First Vice President, Wayne Holt, Reward Builders, Inc.

Wayne Holt, President of Reward Builders, Inc. is currently the First Vice President of the HBA. A builder since 2001, HBA member since 2003, and Certified Green Building Professional, Wayne has received several accolades over the years that include HBA Builder of the Year and MAME Building Company of the Year. He has also won several Parade of Homes Awards.

Wayne has been active over the last several years with the Triangle Sales and Marketing Council, and the Parade of Homes, Government Affairs, Education and Cookoff Committees. He has also been involved on the HBA Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

In 2011, Wayne was the lead builder on the April's Angel Project where he completed a fantasy bedroom makeover for a special boy with several physical and medical challenges.

Second Vice President, Jim Prewitt, Prewitt Custom Homes, Inc.

As homebuilder since 1983, Jim Prewitt, President of Prewitt Custom Homes, Inc. is serving as the Second Vice President for the HBA. He has experienced the homebuilding industry from the ground up starting out as an onsite general laborer for a national homebuilder in 1983.

Throughout the year, he has served on Board of Directors, and in several related roles. While serving on the Parade of Homes Committee, Jim has also been a part of the Executive Committee and Judging Committee for the Parade.  
 
 
 
Treasurer, Connie Tench, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Inc.

As the Treasurer for the HBA Executive Committee, Connie Tench, a Mortgage Consultant for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, has over 20 years of industry experience.
 
Some of her HBA involvement over the years includes serving on the Executive Committee as Vice President Associates, the Board of Directors, and as Associates Committee Chair. Connie is also Triangle Sales and Marketing Council member.

Secretary, John Miller, Adcock Agency, Inc.

John Miller, President and the Adcock Agency, Inc. is serving as Secretary of the HBA Executive Committee. He brings over 25 years of HBA experience and 32 years of insurance industry experience.
 
Over the years, John has served on the Membership, Education, Build-PAC, and Government Affairs Committees. He has been selected as Associate of the Year two times, achieved the Lifetime Spike Award, and has received three HBA Presidential Awards. John has also served eight years on the Wake County Planning Board.
