About Us

The Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County began in 1959 when 25 builders saw a need to organize in order to better represent the interest of the home builder on issues that affect our ability to provide affordable housing for all citizens of Wake County.  Since then, the HBA has grown to over 3,200 members and is the second largest and one of the most active local home builders associations in the country. Our membership represents approximately 90 percent of all housing starts in Wake County.

Affiliated with the North Carolina Home Builders Association (NCHBA) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), the HBA of Raleigh-Wake County is comprised of builders & remodelers, developers, and sales & marketing professionals, serves as a valuable resource for its members in the areas of education and training.

The Association is the voice of the home building industry and helps to insure that elected leaders understand the role of housing in the economy and our role of providing shelter for all families.
