2019 President, Jeff Logsdon
Jeff Logsdon is the Owner/President of Hearthstone Luxury Homes part of Arthur Rutenberg Homes and has 29 years of home building experience. Immediately upon graduation from The Ohio State University, Jeff began to lay the foundation for a career in new home construction. Since then, he has been responsible for helping thousands of families realize the dream of home ownership. Today, Jeff is a luxury homebuilding professional with knowledge and expertise in the areas of consumer trends, architectural design, construction supervision, quality control, and….most importantly…customer satisfaction. Jeff’s many accomplishments and awards in these areas demonstrate his passion and skill in creating an outstanding customer experience that will culminate in turning your dream of owning a unique and luxurious home into a reality.

Past President, Blake Massengill, Massengill Design Build
J. Blake Massengill, CAPS, is president of Massengill Design-Build, a full-service building company located in the Triangle area. He is a second generation builder with many years of experience in the building industry. Massengill holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master’s of Business Administration degree from North Carolina State University.
In addition to home building, Massengill is Mayor Pro-Tem of the Town of Fuquay Varina, first elected in 2013. He also owns Acute Property Management and deVintage Realty.
Massengill Design Build is the recipient of numerous Gold, Silver and Bronze Wake County Parade of Homes awards. In 2014, Massengill was honored to be named the Wake County Builder of the Year by the HBA of Raleigh-Wake County. In 2015, Professional Builder magazine named Massengill to its 40 Under 40 List. Blake is an active member of the HBA.

First Vice President, Gaye Orr
Gaye Burwell Orr, MIRM is president and partner of Coldwell Banker Advantage New Homes a full service new home sales and marketing company in Raleigh, NC.  She has been working with builders and developers in the greater Raleigh area successfully marketing their new home communities for over 30 years. Gaye is a past Chairman of the Triangle Sales & Marketing Council, served on the Executive Committee, continues to serve on their Board of Directors, and is a National Director for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).  She has served as the Chair of Education Committee and the Chair of the Parade of Homes in 2016 and 2017.  Gaye was also recognized in 2016 as the first woman inducted into the HBA’s Hall of Fame for her service to the organization. On a national level, Gaye is a Past President of the Institute of Residential Marketing (IRM), a past chairman of the NAHB’s National Sales and Marketing Council (NSMC), past chairman of NAHB’s Education Committee and a Life Director for NAHB.  She is the recipient of both the NSMC Bill Molster Award and the IRM Trina Ripley Award for Excellence in Education.  She was also honored as the 2011 MIRM of the Year by the NSMC.
Gaye is an instructor for IRM and created the MIRM Aid Mentor Program to help candidates complete the case study requirement to achieve the MIRM designation. In addition to the MIRM designation, Gaye also holds the Certified New Home Sales Specialist (CSP), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB) designations.

Treasurer, Jim Derrickson
Jim Derrickson is Senior Vice President at First Bank Builder Finance with a focus on locally owned home builder companies. Jim started his career in the early eighties and is proud to say he has been lending to the home building industry for a majority of that time. His primary focus in the HBA of Raleigh - Wake County has been to protect the integrity of the local home building industry by being active in the political/entitlement arena. During his involvement, he has been engaged in most of the candidate discernment processes and has served as Build-Pac Chair.
Jim has been a member of the Board of Directors for over 15 years. He has served two terms as Treasurer, and is serving again as the Treasurer for 2019-2010.  He was awarded the Rookie of the Year in 1997, Outstanding Associate of the Year in 2000, and has won Presidential Awards in 1998, 1999, 2003, 2015 and 2017. 
In addition to his involvement with the HBA, he serves on the Board of the Magellan Charter School Foundation.

Secretary, Jonathan Barefoot
Jonathan Barefoot leads the Fonville Morisey Barefoot team with a passion for selling and marketing new homes backed by years of experience in project management and new home sales. A Raleigh, N.C. native, a third generation Realtor, and a graduate of N.C. State University have all given Jonathan an excellent perspective on the Raleigh-Durham market.
As Vice President of Fonville Morisey Barefoot, Jonathan oversees all aspects of sales and marketing, is responsible for business development, and continues to be a driving force in sourcing land and lot opportunities for our builder/developer clients. Jonathan’s enthusiastic and forward thinking leadership, coupled with his honesty and integrity filled business approach, has excelled Jonathan as a natural leader at FMB. Jonathan is actively involved in the home building industry and community, including:
•        Active member of the Urban Land Institute
•        Member of the Urban Land Institute Residential Development Council
•        Serves on Executive Committee and the Board of Directors for the HBA
•        Member of the Raleigh Regional Association of Realtors
•        Member of the Triangle Sales and Marketing Council
•        Member of Wilmington Cape Fear Home Builders Association

Appointee to Executive Committee, Tom Anhut
Tom Anhut is the president of Anhut Properties, a land development company founded in 2014 and focused primarily on providing finished lots to custom builders.  Anhut Properties currently has 8 projects consisting of almost 500 lots in various stages of the approval and site development process. 
​Tom was the Raleigh Division President for both Toll Brothers and for a total of 14 years. He relocated to Raleigh in August 1999 to develop Toll’s $700 million Brier Creek Country Club community, consisting of over 1,600 homes.  In 2010, Tom negotiated Toll’s purchase of the Triangle’s highest end residential golf course community, Hasentree.  Under his leadership, Tom’s new home divisions in Raleigh delivered almost 2,500 luxury homes, representing over $1.3 billion in revenue.  At Toll, he was also promoted to Group President responsible for overseeing the company’s new home divisions in Raleigh, Charlotte, Atlanta and Hilton Head.  Tom joined Toll Brothers in April 1995 and was promoted to Division President in less than 5 years.  Prior to that he worked for Ryland Homes as a site superintendent, as a Realtor in Alexandria Virginia, and before that spent 9 years as an officer in the US Army Corps of Engineers, stationed in Italy, Saudi Arabia, Boston, and northern Virginia.
