WHAT CAN THE HBA DO FOR MY BUSINESS?
Our association supports the industry by representing the interests of residential builders and developers on issues that affect their ability to provide affordable housing for all citizens of Wake County.
So if you make any portion of your living from the residential housing sector within our community, than you should make an investment in your future by supporting the efforts of the industry.
Networking and Lead Development
Our members not only share a common interest, but they also create new friendships with their peers. These relationships allow our members to learn from each other, and grow professionally within the industry.
Throughout the year, we provide numerous unique networking and advertising opportunities for our members. Our monthly meetings and events are held at venues that range from the class room to the golf course. The HBA has opportunities for member to participate in several different councils and committees.
Education and Publications
Educational programs and seminars are an important part of any professional’s success. Our members have access to a wide range of educational and informative topics relating to our industry.
We publish weekly e-newsletters, and provide an online directory of all of our members. Additionally, the State and National associations also publish regular communications for members. Collectively, we are a resource of information from libraries of builder books to industry-focused webcasts and conferences.
Marketing and Showcase Opportunities
We produce the annual Parade of Homes that is one of the largest judged tours, a tour of Remodeled Homes, the New Home Expo, and our Builder Appreciation Night.
To highlight exceptional work of members throughout the Triangle and state, we host annual award shows such as the MAME and Remodeling Awards and the Parade of Homes. Each event is surrounded by targeted marketing and advertising efforts to our members, the public and news media.
A Voice At the Table
Our membership represents approximately 90 percent of all housing starts in Wake County. On the local, state and national levels, our Association along with the North Carolina Home Builders Association (NCHBA) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), is the voice of the residential construction industry. We are very active politically to insure that we have elected leaders who understand housing's role in our economy and our role of providing shelter for all families. On the local level, our government affairs staff works closely with the municipal leaders to provide input into decisions that affect our industry.
Membership in the HBA also includes membership in the North Carolina Home Builders Association (NCHBA) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Through the NAHB Member Advantage program, members receive discounts ranging from computer products and electronic payment services to shipping services and rental cars.
Members can receive access and discounts on NAHB Contracts. These are residential construction contracts and documents developed by NAHB members, exclusively for new home builders and remodelers.
To support home ownership we first must support our community. We are committed to several charity and community service events that include scholarships for High School Seniors in Wake County, Wake County Technical College Scholarships, and other industry related non-profit events such as ramp builds Rebuilding Together of the Triangle, CASA, and the Home Builders Blitz.
